Places now available!
Now’s the time to get your child booked in for September. There is still time to get your free childcare place (available to all 3 & 4 year olds) but you need to contact nursery before the end of September for them to start this year. Alternatively give us a call about your child starting in January (unlike schools we are able to have an intake in January & Easter!)
Don’t forget we also have a few places available for babies & 2-3 year olds. Loads of activities planned for the autumn so why not give us a call or pop in for more details!
We look forward to seeing you!
Private Nurseries improve children’s social behaviour
According to recent research children in maintained settings had “significantly worse scores on the pro-social behaviour scale than those in private setting”. This research was carried out by the National Institute of Economic & Social Research (based on findings from a sample of 7,939 children from the Millenium Cohort Study (MCS) which analysed 2005/06 Foundation Stage Profile (FSP) assessment scores and 2006/08 Ofsted inespection result.
It is extremely positive to have this evidence and shows what a positive impact having your child at nursery actually as on the child. The research also identified that in naming vocabulary tests “it looks like children in maintained settings, nursery school and classes do better”.
Even more reason to send your child to ABC Nursery – tell your friends!!!
National Smile Month at ABC Nursery, Hednesford
This week the children celebrated National Smile Month. They had a great time taking part in aerobics so they could “smile” more and thoroughly enjoyed the tickling session! The Super Stars and Little Stars took part in Dentist role play. They also learned which foods are good and bad for their teeth. Everyone brough in their toothbrush & paste so that they could learn how to brush properly and the importance of brushing at night. They also watched a short DVD 9courtesy of Early Vision) which showed a trip to the dentist. They then got messy trying to find sweet teeth in jelly – Ugh!!! They also had songs and stories about the tooth fairy – apparantly her rates have increased since we were kids?!! Hopefully we’ve all learned to take care of our teeth so they won’t be chattering in a cup ove night when we’re older!
ABC Nursery receives 5 Star rating!!
ABC Nursery today received a 5* rating from “Rate My Place” which is an improvement from the 4* awarded last year. ”Rate My Place” is the “one stop shop” for determining Food Safety in Staffordshire so a 5* rating shows that the nursery has high standards in food hygiene, safety & cleaning. The nursery was congratulated by the inspector for these high standards. Our aim is obviously to maintain them and strive to reach the same “outstanding” with our next OFSTED inspection!! well done to all the staff!
