Events and Activities

Earlier on in the year ABC Nursery took part in “My First Poem” competition. This is part of Young Writers which has promoted poetry and creative writing within schools and nurseries for the past 18 years. We are delighted to announce that seven of our children have been selected to have their poems published in “Me and My Family – Poems from Staffordshire”. My name is Izzy and I go to preschool in the day,
When I’m there I like to laugh and play.
Joshua and Casey are my best friends,
My mummy picks me up when the day ends.

My family are happy, there are 4 of us in all.
My favourite person is Grandad Jones, who is really cool.
We love to play Jim the Giant together,
If I could I’d play forever.

My favourite meal is chicken curry, because it is yum.
Helping Sue the cook is always lots of fun.
I help out by giving out the ice cream while they do the rest.
When we work together it always turns out best.

As a family great nanny Lils is where we like to visit.
We always have pop and biscuits, I wouldn’t want to miss it.
I would like to take my friend Joshua to our favourite place,
I know they would also think it’s really ace.

This is my first poem, all about me and my family,
I hope you enjoyed it just as much as me.
