Thought we’d share with you the views of a parent who has started their child with ABC Nursery recently-

“As soon as I walked through the door I felt comfortable. The security is brilliant with the fingerprint door entry system. Everywhere is so bright and welcoming. And the staff have been really understanding about my requirements for my daughter. She’s settled in so quickly – I feel almost neglected that she didn’t cry for me on her first day?!”

One parent’s comments after her child moved from Little Stars room to Pre-School Superstars room.

“I am very pleased with the progress that L has made both physically and emotionally. All staff especially family workers are very sensitive and understanding to L’s needs. The care she receives is exceptional. I am very impressed with the level of communication between family workers and parents. I had no worries about L moving early into Superstars.”

Working closely with parents is key to any change within the nursery. We involve them at every opportunity and, as you can see from the comment above – it works!!

We wanted to share a little event with you as it made us smile!

One of the parents turned up this week to collect their child at 11.30am, as normal. However on arriving, her son said to her “Mummy – don’t pick me up at this time again! You must leave me here ALL DAY!!!” Just goes to show that we must be doing something right if they don’t want to go home because they’re having too much fun here?!!!

It’s that time of year again when we start saying goodbye to some of the children as they leave to go to school. As such we have had some fabulous letters of thanks from parents and we felt it is in order to share them with you!

“Dear Fiona

It is with very much sadness that I am writing this letter as it means my little boy is growing up and is now ready to go to Big School on a new adventure.

I would firstly like to thank everyone at ABC for making the last three and a half years very enjoyable for X. He has had a fantastic time making new friends and learning new activities:in my opinion his social skills have come on leaps and bounds. I would also like to say a special thank you to the four members of staff that have been there as X’s stability while he has been with you :Liz, Mel, Sarah Croxall and Bev. The dedication the girls have put in to making every step of X’s development is better than we could have asked for and X will never forget them and their kindness. The four of them will always have a special place in x’s heart and be a happy childhood memory.

I would like to wish you and your staff all the best for the future and hope you have continued success at ABC”

Today ABC Nursery had 4 new arrivals. The caterpillars which came to us a couple of weeks ago have today transformed into four beautiful butterfiles. The children have decided to call them Sunshine, Petal, Flower and Rainbow. This spookily linked really well with our Bugs Day. The children got the chance to search for bugs and worms in jelly (sweeties of course!), look for bugs in the outdoor area and use the magnifying box to idenitfy them, butterfly printing and then finally to pretend that they were caterpillars or butterflies.

The children loved the day – particularly as they were able to dress up as their favourite bugs and have their faces painted. Definitely a theme which will turn up again in the future we think!

If you would like to see the butterflies, please feel free to ask the staff and they will gladly show you our butterfly garden! We look forward to seeing you soon!

Don’t forget to contact us as soon as possible to book your child in for the Starship Troopers Holiday Club and/or the free nursery places for September. Remember that places are limited so book early to avoid disappointment!

Saturday July2nd will be ABC Nursery’s first family fun and open day. We are having a bouncy castle, face painting, dance lessons, hook a duck, barbecue, sponge the staff in the stocks, cake stall, ball pool and lots more.

So if you would like to join us please feel free to pop along and see what we’re all about.

The day is open to existing parents and anyone else who would like to join us. It is the perfect opportunity to meet us informally and see if you would like your child to join us in the future. We will also be taking bookings for the free nursery places available for children from September.
